Mary Lou Baio, age 89, of Dover, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, August 4, 2013, in Union Hospital at Dover.
Born December 12, 1923, at New Philadelphia, Mary was a daughter of the late Willard J. and Fern Kimmel Arnold. A 1941 graduate of New Philadelphia, she went on to work at the former Daniels Dress Shop, and later, alongside her husband with Automated Vending Inc.
Mary wed the late Charles Anthony Baio on Christmas Eve, 1942, in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and set up housekeeping in New Philadelphia where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and she was a member of the Lady Elks for B.P.O.E. #510. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (husband, Alan) Hadsell of Loveland, O. and a son, Tim Baio of Columbus, O.
She’ll be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Christina (husband, Chris) Snyder of Canton and Robert Charles Polilli of Cincinnati, O.
Three great-grandchildren; Madison Snyder, Rowan Miley and Mason Snyder also survive.
A sister, Janice Henry of Rocky River, O. and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Baio is preceded in death by her sister Marjorie Devers and her half-brothers, Glenn and Paul Geib.
Cremation is planned. The Baio family will receive friends Saturday, August 17, from 1-2 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Father Jeff Coning will officiate a 2PM memorial service.
A reception will immediately follow the service in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
Private inurnment in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover, is also planned.
