Mary L. Aubihl, 84, of Dover and formerly of Newcomerstown, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Park Village Healthcare Center in Dover following a period of declining health.
Born in New Philadelphia on October 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Anna (Sirrey) Wright.
She was a 1948 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. On May 7, 1952, Mary was united in holy marriage with her lifelong companion and friend, Charles Edward Aubihl in Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.
Mary retired in 1995 after working for 23 years as a switchboard operator at the Tuscarawas County Courthouse. She also worked in numerous offices at Union Hospital, after beginning her business career at Reeves Steel.
Mary was a 68 year member of Broadway United Methodist Church, where she was very active teaching Sunday school in her younger years. Her greatest joy was her family, but she also loved baking, flower gardening, and reading.
Mary will be deeply missed by her husband, Charles, of New Philadelphia; her children, Steve (Barbara) Aubihl of Bolivar, Nannette (David) Avon of New Philadelphia, Timothy (Pamela) Aubihl of Dover, Sally (James) Storad of Bolivar and Tom (Tracy) Aubihl of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Michael Avon, Josh R. Aubihl, Linda (Jesse) Farley, Megan Aubihl, Alex Aubihl, Eric Aubihl, Morgan Aubihl, and Danielle Golec; her great-grandchildren Makayla and Tristin Farley; and her sisters-in-law, Frances (Carl) Rummell and Muriel Aubihl.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Jr., Dean, and Billy Wright; and her sister, Margaret Arbogast.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Mary’s life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
