Mary Kozeni

Mary Kozeni, age 80, of New Philadelphia, died late Friday evening, June 6, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover with her family at her side. Born April 5, 1928, at Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Vera and Art Darling of Euclid, Ohio.Mary was a retired licensed practical nurse, and was affiliated with the former South Broadway Nursing Home. She previously worked at Parma Community General Hospital in the Cleveland area. She’ll be remembered as a woman who spent her life learning, and was an especially gifted reader. Whether in history, geography, or subjects of special interest like sailing, water gardening or landscaping, Mary was known to read and share her knowledge and encouragement with others, especially her grandchildren. On December 20, 1946, she married Donald Kozeni, who survives. The couple would have celebrated sixty-two years of marriage together later this year. Together, they reared a family that includes the late Allen Kozeni, the late Bryan Kozeni, and three daughters; Catherine (Robert) Shimizu of Petaluma, California, Christine (Todd) Kinsey, of Dover, and Jean (Richard) Miranda of Joshua, Texas.Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild complete the family.
