Mary Jane Williams, 79, of Stow, passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2020, following a brief period of declining health.
Born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elwood and Gladys Janet (Pinkerton) Hintze.
After completing her formal education at East Stroudsburg High School and Findlay College, she married her late husband, Darrell Williams. Together, they were blessed with the birth of their two children, Craig and Lori.
Mary Jane devoted her life to caring for others. She spent several years as a childcare provider. Most importantly, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, especially vacationing at the beach. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, always taking special care to select the perfect card.
Mary Jane was a member at the United Methodist Church of Stow, where she loved singing in the choir.
She will be deeply missed by her family including her children, Craig (Laura) Williams of Dover and Lori (Robert) Ullrich of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Jacob, Sidney, and William Ullrich, Cassandra (Robert) Bast, Scott (Madison) Williams, and David Williams; and her great-granddaughters, Beatrice and Maxine Bast; and her sister, Elizabeth (William) Reaser; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in passing by her brother, Richard Hintze.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, OH 44622 on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. A service celebrating Mary Jane’s life will immediately follow beginning at 5 p.m. with Rev. Karen Drotar officiating. Inurnment will take place in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio, at a later date.
Due to Covid 19, safety precautions will be taken. The 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are to wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, and to allow other guests to pay their respects, we politely ask that visitors who do not plan to stay for the service do not linger at the funeral home after greeting the Williams family.
