Mary Jane King, 89, of Midvale, died Monday, December 10, 2012 at her home following and extended illness.
A daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Waltz) Wilson, Mary Jane was born October 9, 1923 at Midvale, Ohio.
Mary Jane was a former employee of Joy Manufacturing at New Philadelphia and was a former member of the Midvale V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She had a love for children and dedicated nine years of her life serving as a foster grandparent at Midvale Elementary School. Mary Jane then enjoyed sitting on her front porch and chatting with the students on their way to and from school. She also enjoyed driving her Dodge Aries.
Surviving is her siblings, Vera Wilson, Woneta Quillen and George (Helen) Wilson all of Midvale, nieces Linda Fox and Shirley DeMattio both of Midvale; a sister-in-law, Helen Waltz of Midvale and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John J. King who passed away on January 17, 1985; three sisters, Betty Creager, Margaret Colletti and Patricia Ann Wilson and a brother, Donald Waltz.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Mary Jane’s life will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the services, a luncheon will be held in the Midvale Pavilion.
