Mary Jane Johnson Renicker

Mary Jane Johnson Renicker, 73, of Canton died Friday at Aultman’s Woodlawn Care Center following a long illness. She was born July 31, 1930 at Akron, Ohio a daughter of the late Penn Reinhald Johnson and Vada Matilda Shovestull Johnson, She was employed by the United States Postal Service retiring as a personnel assistant. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Stark County Genealogy Society, the Friends of the Stark County Library and was an active genealogist in the area.Her husband the late Cletus D. Renicker died October 27, 1975. Survivors include daughters Kathy (Alan) Thomas of Cincinnati, Marsha Broome of New Philadelphia, Jacqueline (Roger) Broome of Massillon, a brother Donald (June) Hall of Akron; sisters Ruth (Pete) Scalambrino and Carol Rennicker of New Philadelphia and Joan Johnson of West Lafayette, Ohio; 7 grandchildren Tony, Tracy, Joe, Nick, Mike, David and Matthew and 9 great-grandchildren Ashley, Joey, Tyler, Tiffany, Zachary, Rachel, Brandan, Aaron and Evan. A brother Gerald Johnson and a great grandchild Logan Broome preceded her in death.Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Pastor Michael Bragg officiating. Burial will follow at Holmes Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
