Mary Jane Cunningham, 71, New Philadelphia, died Wednesday morning, May 4, 2005, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.Born November 23, 1933, in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Jane (Thomas) Lawver, and became the wife of the late Harold C. Cunningham to whom she was married for 50 years before his death in March of 2002.A member of Roxford United Methodist Church, Mary Jane spent much of her life as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker and delighted in the time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed luncheons and social outings with fellow New Philadelphia High School classmates.Outside the home, she was employed as a cook by the former Valley Manor Nursing Home, now Morningview Care Center; and as a housekeeper at the former Delphian Motor Inn.Mary Jane is survived by her four children, daughters, Debbie Cunningham, Janet (Tom) Albright, and Sandy Cunningham, all of New Philadelphia; son, Dan (Sue) Cunningham of Midvale; grandchildren, Erica Albright, Shawn Cunningham, and Scott Cunningham, all of New Philadelphia, and Chris Cunningham and Sarah Cunningham, both of the home; brothers, Glen (Bonnie) Lawver, Bill (Faye) Lawver, and Ken (Nancy) Lawver, all of New Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, an infant daughter, Vicki, and seven siblings preceded her in death.Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2005 between the hours of 2 and 4 and 6 and 8 p.m. and Friday, May 6, 2005 between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. Services to celebrate Mary Jane’s life will be conducted by Pastor Henry Mooney on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park.
