Mary Jane Corra, age 88, of New Philadelphia, died early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010, in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover. A daughter of the late Harry M. and Mary E. (Wright) Petty, Mary Jane was born at Evansville, Indiana on July 3, 1922. She attended Uhrichsville High School and remained in the Twin City area for a number of years. For a period of time, she was employed by the former Morris Dry Cleaners and later worked for a number of restaurants. For more than 20 years, Mary Jane served the Twin City Hospital where she was employed as a nurse’s aide. Mary Jane loved spending time with her family and sharing in their company but also enjoyed bowling and being an active member of the Red Hat Society. She will be missed by her family that includes her husband of forty years, Albert Corra, whom she married on June 6, 1970; a daughter, Jane Maxwell of Dennison; two sisters, Betty Lou (George) Deibel of New Philadelphia and Joan Unger of Coshocton; and two brothers, Ed (Janet) Petty and Bill Petty, all of Traverse City, Michigan. Two brothers-in-law, Lawrence “Bob” Corra of Gilmore and Jim (Mel) Corra of Wintersville; a sister-in-law, Anna Corra of Scio; five grandchildren, Jack Maxwell, Jim (Tammie) Maxwell, Lori Henry of Dennison and Scott and John Kinsey of New Philadelphia; five great-grandchildren, Cory and Alivia Maxwell, Kyle and Max Henry all of Dennison and Stepheni Kinsey of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a son, Bob Kinsey; one granddaughter, and her husband, Marilee and Doug Day; one great-granddaughter, Destini Kinsey; a son-in-law, John Maxwell; a brother-in-law, Bill Unger; and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Corra, Mary Myers, and Deloris Grandison. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2010, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Matt Hoover will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 30, 2010, at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Dennison. Following services, a meal and fellowship will be shared in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the New Philadelphia funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions in Mary Jane’s name be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
