Mary Helena Huff, age 92, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, December 12, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late Angelo and Helena (Corredo) Martini, Mary was born at Roswell on February 1, 1916.While attending a dance at Dennison, Ohio, Mary met the love of her life, Leonard Huff; and on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1942, the couple began a marriage that lasted more than 66 years.During their time together, Mary and Leonard would often travel the area attending the performances and dancing to the music provided by the “big-band” groups of their era. Mary spent much of her life as a homemaker and took that role very seriously. She will be remembered by her family as a person who was always making sure there was food on the table or fresh baked goods ready when they would stop by for a visit.Taking care of pets was another enjoyment that Mary had throughout her lifetime. For many years, she cared for a number of dogs that befriended the family.Outside of the home, Mary has been a longstanding member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and a supporter of numerous activities.In addition to her husband, Leonard, Mary is survived by two grandchildren, Stacy (Tim) Sepelak of Willoughby, Ohio and Steve (Ileana) Bongini, of Miami Beach, Florida.In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Dellago and John Martini; a sister, Anna Dellago; a daughter, Sandra K. Bongini; and a son-in-law, Eugene Bongini.The family will receive friends in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, from 5:00 â?? 8:00 P.M. with a Christian Wake service beginning at 7:45.Monsignor George J. Schlegel will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 1:30 PM. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Following the committal, the family would like to invite guests to join them for a reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the New Philadelphia funeral home.Those unable to attend are invited to share condolences with the family by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions in memory of Mary to the Sandra K.
