Mary Helen Davison

Mary Helen Davison, age 78, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Schoenbrunn Health Care Center.

A daughter of the late Alex Stephen and Vernessa (Whittington) Mills, Helen, as she was known by family and friends was born at Adrian, Georgia on March 15, 1938.

She was a devoted housewife and mother who deeply loved her family, brothers and sister and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen also enjoyed cooking and fishing.

Survivors include her sons, Gary W. (Louise) Young of Georgia, Kenny (Cindy) Young of Dover, Steve (Terry) Young of West Virginia, David (Joyce) Young and Brian (Gwen) Young all of New Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Junior (Polly) Mills; her sister, Melba Spivey all of Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Davison, and her brothers, Robert, Jimmy, Billy, and Stanley Mills.

A service celebrating Helen’s life will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 5 PM with Pastor Mark Hunnicutt officiating. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service from 4-5 PM.  Cremation will follow with inurnment to take place at a later date.
