Mary Hannah Moore, age 94, of New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover, and formerly of Tuscarawas, and Ocala, Florida, died peacefully late Monday evening, October 6, 2008. Born at Scio, in Harrison County, Ohio on February 22, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Mable Blanche Dickerson and Albert Dickerson. She was a 1932 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. Mary enjoyed ballroom dancing with her late husband, and was a member of the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancer’s Association chapter #627 of Ocala, Florida. She was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks of Eustis, Florida, and the Moose Club of Orlando, Florida. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyman Davis, in 1957. In 1962, she married John S. Moore and the couple resided at Tuscarawas for the next decade. In 1972, they relocated to Ocala, Florida, where they resided until his death in 2004. Mary relocated to Ohio following his death to be closer to her husband’s family. Survivors include a son, John A. Moore and wife Patricia of Tuscarawas, and daughters Sherry Miller and husband Ronald of Manning, South Carolina, and Laurie Haney and husband John of Wainwright. Eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild complete the family. Private visitation Thursday followed by a private memorial service on Friday with inurnment in Union Cemetery has been planned. There are no public services.
