Mary DeVore

Mary DeVore, 85, of Uhrichsville passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the care of Community Hospice at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Ernest R. and Mellie (Renner) Stewart, Mary was born October 15, 1932 at Gnadenhutten, Ohio.

Mary was a kind, generous, fun-loving jokester, who cared deeply about her family. In her career as a cook with the Meals on Wheels program, she taught many lessons and shared many laughs. Mary retired at the young age of 75.

Surviving are five children, Nicholas Meuhlen, Dona Kochman (Bob), Cindy Ripple (Kelly), Jackie Marini (Rick Sickels), and June Walker (Bill).

Left to remember her are two brothers and three sisters; grandchildren Josiah Kane Shamel, Jonas Shamel, Rickie Meuhlen, Leigha Meuhlen, Krista Bower, Chared Meuhlen, Dessie Mishler, Zachariah Ripple; her very special little care giver, Maxi Ripple; as well as 23 great-grandchildren.

Welcoming Mary into heaven were both her parents, four brothers, one sister, and a very special angel, her granddaughter Samantha Mishler.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes there will be no public calling hours or services and cremation care will be handled through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Burial will take place at a later date.
