Mary DeFeo, age 94 of Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover, passed away Friday morning, August 26, 2011.Born at Brooklyn, New York on February 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Golda (Maltzman) Pawlovsky. Mary wed her beloved husband, James DeFeo, on March 5, 1939 and enjoyed more than sixty years together before his passing on October 26, 2001.With a work ethic forged by the great depression, Mary and her husband worked together in the operation of their commercial vending machine company throughout New York. This hard work and dedication enabled them to enjoy the twilight of their lives together in Boca Raton, Florida. Mary will be missed by many, including the families of her son; James “Jim” (Joan) DeFeo of New Philadelphia and daughter; Louise (John) Duignan of Blufton, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Maria (husband, Rick) Feik and Meryl (husband, Terry) Zinser, both of New Philadelphia, James Lee (wife, Cindy) DeFeo of Westlake, O., Renee Cuocco of Long Island, New York, and Jason Cuocco of Myrtle Beach, North Carolina.Survivors also include her great-grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Maia and Justus Feik, Wendy, Mary, and Louis DeFeo, as well as Jasmine and Brielle Cuocco.In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her brother Jack, and sisters Ethel and Esther. The DeFeo family will receive friends Sunday (TODAY) from 1-3 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where wake services will commence at 2:40. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial Monday afternoon at 3PM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Following Mass, Mrs. DeFeo will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Boynton Beach Cemetery, Florida.
