Mary C. Lumpcik, 84, of New Philadelphia died Saturday evening at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness. She was born August 7, 1918 at Kenwood, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Pasquale “Patsy” & Domenica “Minnie” Antonucci Celestino.Mary had worked at the former Scio Pottery, the Tappan Marina and was co-owner of the former Angels Jewerly Store in Uhrichsville. She enjoyed working outside in her yard especially mowing on her John Deere tractor. She was preceeded in death by her husband John Arthur “Sherlock” Lumpcik who died January 7, 2000, three brothers and five sisters.Survivors include a daughter Cynthia A. Lumpcik, son John J. (Shirley) Lumpcik both of New Philadelphia; 5 grandchildren John (Jeanne) Lumpcik, Jr., Ronald (Cindy) Lumpcik, Sheryll (Jim) Celuch, Melidna (Bob) Lumpcik and Danny (Tracy) Lumpcik, a sister Mrs. Nicholas “Louise” Pirro of Twinsburg, Ohio and 15 great-grandchildren.Services will be held Wednesday March 5, 2003 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, a reception will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
