Mary C. Green

Mary Catherine Green, 83, of Hennis Care Center in Bolivar, died January 3, 2004 at Union Hospital in Dover.Born May 20, 1920 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Hazel Irene (Uptegraph) Metzger.On October 27, 1937, she married her husband, Justin Clarence Green, Sr., who died on May 11, 2000. Mary was a homemaker and took care of the family. She enjoyed gardening around the house and is known for driving her red and white truck. She was also a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Zoarville.Mary is survived by her son, Justin C. (fiance, Judi DeGordon) Green, Jr. of Mineral City; a grandson, Chad (Diane) Green of Massillon; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Cory, and Kelsey Green; niece, Martha Buss of Dover; nephew, John (Candace) Gibson, Jr.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sherry Green; and two sisters, Hazel Irene Gibson and Kay Uptegraph Youngen.Friends are invited to call at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 2004 from 6 to 8 PM. A service celebrating Mary’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Friday, January 9 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Marvin Ritterling officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park.
