Mary B. Widdoes, 96, of Dover, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Thompson) Dunlap, Mary was born September 5, 1914 at Cadiz, Ohio.Mary was a homemaker most of her life. However, after her children grew older, she went to work as a seamstress. During the next 29 years, she would work for Jaffe’s Department Store at New Philadelphia, Kline’s Department Store at Dover, Richmond’s Mens Store at New Philadelphia and eventually retired from Robert’s Mens Shop at New Philadelphia in 1977.In her spare time, Mary enjoyed sewing clothing for her family. She also enjoyed reading and writing poetry.She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (James) Sulzener of New Philadelphia; two sons-in-law, Bill Pfister of Surgarcreek and Tom Meyers of Goshen; her grandchildren, Steven (Paula) Sulzener of New Philadelphia, Dudley (Melissa) Sulzener of Goodyear, Arizona, Tracy (Dan) Moore of New Philadelphia, Bambi (Rick) Maurer of New Philadelphia, William (Teressa) Pfister of Fresno, Tonya (Bill) Palmer of Tuscarawas and Dawn (David) Anderson of Dover; 14 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Carol Pfister and Sandra Meyers, a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Robert Allen, two grandchildren, Robert Sulzener and Cheryl Pfister and a great grandson.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Frank Sapp Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
