Mary Ann (Cottrell) Yoder, 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Trinity Twin City Hospital.
Born in Dennison on July 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James Eugene and Lula Bell (Brown) Cottrell.
After graduating from Dennison High School, she married her lifelong companion and friend, Roy A. Yoder on June 29, 1968.
Together, they were blessed with three sons. Mary Ann had a spirit of hospitality and greatly enjoyed making each person that walked into her house, feel as if they were home.
Mary Ann’s faith was nurtured at the Sandy Valley Church of God where she taught children as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She had a beautiful way of connecting with children and helping them to blossom.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Roy; her children, Heith (Cathy) Yoder of Bolivar and their children, Nathan and Natalie, Brian (Holly) Yoder of Dundee and their children, Luke and Allie, and Neal (Stephanie) Yoder of Bolivar and their children, Noah and Emily; her siblings, Pete (Debbie) Cottrell of New Philadelphia, Ray (Sally) Cottrell of Uhrichsville, Barb (Butch) Kauffman of Dennison, and Ginny Edwards of Uhrichsville
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph, Robert, and Joe Cottrell, Emma Lou Blackford, Edna Howell, and Audrey Legg.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, 5600 North Wooster Ave Ext., on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held in the funeral home on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
Friends are invited to Geib’s Hospitality Center in the funeral home following the committal service where a meal will be shared.
Memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s memory may be directed to Sandy Valley Church of God for the benefit of the Sunday school program, 11281 State Highway 800, Magnolia, OH 44643.
