MARY ANN “Annie” RICHESSON, 81, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Friday morning, August 29, 2003 in Dover. Mary Ann was born in Brier Hill, PA on July 19, 1922 to the late Francis and Julia Zajac Gocek. On November 26, 1942, she married Woodrow L. “Woody” Richesson in Canton. A member of Sacred Heart Church, Mary Ann especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was an excellent homemaker and talented cook. After Woody’s retirement, the couple enjoyed spending time in Florida, camping and playing cards. Mary Ann was also a member of TOPS.Besides her husband, Mary Ann is survived by two sons, Edward L. (Mary Louise) Richesson of Bolivar and William C. (Becky) Richesson of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Richesson of Cincinnati, Brian (Cathy) Richesson of Boardman, Lcpl. Mark (Kim) Richesson of Havelock, NC, and Julie (Tim) Altier of Dover; great-grandchildren, Kyla and Abby Richesson, Andrew and Julia Richesson; and a sister, Helen (Ed) Rilinger of Canton. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.Visitation will be Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2003 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with the wake service at 8:30 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Monsignor George J. Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the cemetery committal everyone is warmly invited to the Geib Family Center to share a meal.Contributions in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 139 Third St., NE in New Philadelphia.
