Mary Ann “Snooks” Feightling, age 68, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday in her home following a week-long illness. Born in Union Hospital at Dover, June 8, 1941, she was a daughter of the late George N. and Anna Montan Feightling. Mary Ann graduated from New Philadelphia High School with the Class of 1959, and remained active in organizing the class reunions and serving as the auctioneer for the class fundraisers. As a young lady, she went to work for the former O’Neils in Alliance, and later the Broken Wheel Antique Shop. Mary Ann worked as a caretaker of elderly members in the community of Lisbon, and worked for a decade as a bookkeeper for Damiascus & Columbiana Auctioneers at Lisbon. Later in life, she cleaned the offices of Center Township in Columbiana County, and refinished antique furniture. A member of the Tabor Ridge Community Church, Mary Ann will be remembered as “Country Bumpkin” – her handle on Citizen’s Band Radio â?? and spent many hours monitoring emergency channel 9. Her memberships also included the Fairfield Grange, the Johnny Appleseed Festival Association of Lisbon, and the React Team, also based out of Lisbon. Survivors include her companion, Gene Donofrio, of New Philadelphia, and her aunt, Regina Paisley, of Mineral City, Ohio. Numerous cousins and second cousins complete the family. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by two aunts and two uncles with whom she was close; Eugena Waltz and Mary Tibrea, and Jacob and Charles Montan. Reverend John Dunn will lead graveside services Thursday, May 27, at 2PM in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Calling hours will be private.
