Mary Ann Briggs, 85, of Navarre and formerly of Tuscarawas, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Altercare of Navarre.A daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Minnideo) Ginnetti, Mary was born November 7, 1923 at Youngstown, Ohio.She was a 1943 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and then continued her education at secretarial school at Canton. Mary retired from Everett’s Bakery and prior to that she was employed at Snyder Manufacturing.She was a member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia as well as a member of the former St. Theresa Church at Wainwright.Mary’s family will remember her for her excellent cooking and baking skills as well as for her love of cross stitching. She enjoyed playing Bingo and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were usually the recipients of her treats from the kitchen and her cross stitching creations.Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Michael) Daley of New Philadelphia and Shirley (Ted) Burkholder of Canton; her grandchildren, Michelle and Theresa Daley both of New Philadelphia, Wendy Daley of Dover, Mark Burkholder of Birmingham, Alabama, Steve (Natalie) Burkholder and Tricia (Brad) Henderson both of Tanzania, Africa; great grandchildren, Autumn Daley and Hannah, Caleb, Libby, Tate and Sarah Burkholder; a sister, Helen Cox of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.Mary was also quite fond of Shirley’s dogs, Oscar and Ollie.She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Foster Briggs who passed away December 10, 1981 and a brother, Frank Ginnetti.Mary’s family will receive guests on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to S.E.N.T. Inc., P.O.
