Martha Robertson

Martha Robertson, age 89, of New Philadelphia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, January 16, 2013 following a month long illness.

Born at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1923, Martha was the only child born to the late Harry A. and Theresa E. (Marmarose) Busch.

Martha is a 1942 graduate of Westinghouse High School at Pittsburgh and continued her education through a two year business college. She was employed by Westinghouse Air Brake as a secretary and retired in 1983 following 19 years with the firm.

She had a great passion for music and especially appreciated Broadway Musicals. Among her other interest in life, Martha was known for her quilting and gardening abilities.

She is survived by her son, Bill (wife, Shieila) Strawn of New Philadelphia and four grandchildren, Lauren Strawn of Columbus, Ohio, Stephen Strawn, Julia Strawn, and Jillian Strawn all of New Philadelphia.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Robertson, and a son, Harry Albert Strawn.

In keeping with Martha’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Private inurnment will take place in the Edgewood Cemetery at Saltzsburg, Pennsylvania.
