Martha Reed

Martha F. Reed, 92, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Claiborne-Hughes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Franklin.

A daughter of the late Jennings and Matilda Margaret (Day) Howiler, Martha was born November 1, 1924 at Barnesville, Ohio.

Martha was a member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ.  She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and sewing.  She also was an excellent cook.

She is survived by her two children, Margaret (Tony) Mickholtzick of Franklin, Tennessee and Nancy (Robert) Miller of Barnesville, Ohio as well as ten grandchildren, Steven Mickholtzick, David Mickholtzick, Mark Mickholtzick, Michelle Johnson, Melissa Cere, Deanna Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Lori Patton, Leah Hannahs, Jonathan Miller and twenty great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Felix L Reed whom she married July 27, 1946; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Dean) Miller and four siblings, Edward Howiler, Paul Howiler, Earl Howiler and Mary Reed.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home’s chapel with her three sons-in-law officiating.  Burial will follow at the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Martha to the Maury City Church of Christ, P.O. Box 323, Maury City, TN 38050.  Please write “Widowhood Workshop” in the check memo line.
