Martha L. Harbaugh, age 84, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Monday afternoon, June 6, 2005, in Union Hospital at Dover. Born on New Year’s Day 1921, in Holmes County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Elva Balder Hostetler.Martha was a member of the First Church of the Brethren at New Philadelphia.She will be remembered by her family as a person who took great joy in giving to others, whether at a church or school function, Martha could be relied upon for support in any capacity. Mrs. Harbaugh enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting, bowling, and cooking and canning for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, William P. Harbaugh, whom she married at New Philadelphia on September 30, 1961, three sons; Raymond B. (Claudia) Hidey of New Philadelphia, W. Thomas (Debbie) Hidey of Dover, and Eugene W. (Cindy) Harbaugh of New Philadelphia, three daughters; Darlene (Jack) Wolfe of Ashland, Martha A. (William) Kilchenman, and Una M. (Donald) Fox of New Philadelphia, a daughter-in-law; Wendy Hidey of New Philadelphia, a brother, Benjamin (Grace) Hostetler of Dover, twenty-three grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sons, Samuel B. Hidey, James C. Hidey and John E. Hidey, a brother, Raymond Hostetler, and her first husband; Webster B. Hidey. Friends are invited to call Thursday, June 9 from 2-4 and 7 Â? 9 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Max Canfield will lead a funeral celebrating Martha’s life Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, a reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Brethren, 700 Fair Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
