Martha J. Hauenstein, 79, of Dover died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born Dec. 18, 1924, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Ira B. and Mary Miller Wolfe. For the past year and a half she had been a resident of Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.On Nov. 17, 1963, she married Donald H. Hauenstein, who died Dec. 7, 1979.Martha, a 1942 graduate of New Philadelphia High, was a retired employee of Bank One, having been a teller supervisor and working at both the New Philadelphia office and the Boulevard office in Dover. She was a life member of First United Church of Christ at New Philadelphia and had been a Girl Scout leader, a Sunday school teacher and a member of Beta Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and several card clubs.She is survived by her sister, Jennie M. Stewart of New Philadelphia; her brother, Richard C. (June) Wolfe of Dover; nieces, Sandra Stewart of New Philadelphia, Shirley Stewart of Lorain and Barbara White of NewPhiladelphia; stepchildren, Sharon Harwig of East Sparta, Donald Hauenstein Jr. of California, Dennis Hauenstein of Columbus and John Hauenstein of Massillon; a former stepdaughter-in-law, Socorro Luckett of Houston; andseveral stepgrandchildren.In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, M. Lee Stewart.Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Associate Pastor Jill Lovett officiating.
