Martha E. Buker

Martha Elizabeth Buker, age 89, of Hennis Care Center at Bolivar died peacefully late Sunday evening December 5, 2010, following a period of declining health.Born at Uhrichsville, Ohio on April 13, 1921, Martha was a daughter of the late Fred, Sr. and Annie Campbell Workman.A 1939 graduate of Coshocton High School, Martha married Mearl F. Buker in 1952, and together the couple reared two children.Martha was a longtime member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church at Coshocton and upon relocating to the Tuscarawas Valley she became a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church.Martha is survived by her two children, Mark Buker and his wife, Dickie of New Philadelphia, and Beth Downes and her husband, George of Bolivar; a brother, Fred Workman; and three sisters, Ann Lillibridge, Frances Workman, and Ruth Halpin all of Coshocton.Three grandchildren, Nathan Buker, Laura Buker and Sarah Downes complete the family.In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl, and two brothers, Raymond “Bud” and Charles Workman.Those wishing to do so may send the family personal condolences by visiting the funeral home’s website.In keeping with Martha’s wishes, she has been cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
