Marlin Patrick Kidd

August 21, 1961 — May 30, 2002

Marlin P. Kidd, 40, of Scio, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following an extended illness. Born in Dennison, Ohio, he is the son of Mary Ruth Whiteman Kidd of Scio and the late Lloyd Clifton Kidd. Marlin was a 1981 graduate of Jewitt-Scio High School, and a truck driver for CRST International. He loved model cars, the outdoors, hunting, guns, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also very mechanically inclined, and enjoyed animals.Surviving is his wife of 8 years, Patricia S. Yocom Kidd, of the home, whom he married December 9, 1993; seven daughters, Rhonda Butler, Carol (Carl) Baker, Susan (Joseph) Barber, all of Wooster, Kimberly Kelly, Alicia Young, Christine Mutton, all of Scio, Shawnna (Renaldo) Rivera of Akron; twelve grandchildren, James C. Butler, Brittany Ann Wallace, Timothy E.A. Miller, Fantasia Lorain Jones, Floyd L. Craft III, Gwendalynne Barber, Rhiannon E. Rivera, Caleb Lee Mutton, Teka Dawn Young, Kara, Kelly, and Jarod Baker; two sisters, Cynthia Lee (Bill) Drosos of Xenia and Lorna (Paul) Yoder of Lena, Wisconsin; a brother, Mark E. (Pat) Kidd of Conover, NC; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2002, at 1:30 PM in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, in Scio, with Bruce Zimmerman and Marlin’s family officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 925 S. Main Street, North Canton, Oh, 44720. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements.
