Mark Anthony Incarnato

Mark Anthony Incarnato, 69, of New Philadelphia, passed away on April 18, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Born on December 12, 1955, in Dover, he was the son of the late Nicholas T. and Betty J. (Caswell) Incarnato. A 1974 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Mark went on to study History and Physical Education at Ashland University, where he also played college baseball—a sport he loved deeply. He remained involved in the game for many years, coaching Little League and Pony League, and playing Class A baseball into his late 20s. He was honored to be inducted into the Tuscarawas County Cy Young Baseball Association Hall of Fame.

Mark’s passion for music was lifelong. A self-taught musician with a love for every genre—from Dean Martin to punk rock—he began performing in the 1980s as the lead singer of the garage band The Unreal McCoys, touring across Ohio. In 1989, he joined The Fleshpeddlers, continuing to share his talent and passion with audiences. Music was truly a part of his soul.

Professionally, Mark Anthony dedicated his life to working with others. He began his career at Starlight Schools, later working at the Workshop, and ultimately with clients at Advocates for Success. He was known for his kind and gentle nature, and his work left a lasting impression on the students and individuals he served. He retired in 2016 from the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

On December 16, 1988, Mark Anthony married Gena R. Armstrong. Introduced by his sister Laurie, the two quickly discovered a deep connection and were married just months after they began dating—commencing a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion.

A proud supporter of his New Philadelphia Quakers, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland’s professional sports teams, Mark Anthony found his greatest joy in being with his family and playing music. His love, warmth, and spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Gena; children, Gabriel (Damian Garcia) Incarnato of Brooklyn, NY, and Nicholas (Kayla Grossenbacher) Incarnato of New Philadelphia; siblings, Nick (Sherry) Incarnato, Matt (Linda) Incarnato, Kris (Dave) Moreland, all of New Philadelphia, and Laurie Landis of Dover; sisters-in-law, Terri (David) Sholl of Marengo and Deanna (Jeff) Horn of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in passing by his brother-in-law, Brian Landis; his parents-in-law, Del and Blanche Armstrong; and his nephew, Bryce Horn.

Visitation will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia on Friday, April 25 beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
