Marjorie J. Schumacher, 90, of New Philadelphia went home to be with her Lord, Sunday evening December 21, 2014 in the Community Hospice House surrounded by her family following a period of declining health.
Born in Midvale on June 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Ethel (Carroll) Taylor. After graduating from high school, Marjorie married her late husband, Howard E. Schumacher.
Marjorie will long be remembered as a beautiful woman, full of immense grace and elegance.
Marjorie managed the jewelry department at Harts Family Center for 10 years. Also, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Broadway United Methodist Church.
She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Kathy (Bob Martinelli) Pietro and Beth (Denis) Martini, both of New Philadelphia, and Susan Blair of Dover; her beloved grandchildren, Rico (Amanda) Pietro, James Pietro, Robby Martinelli, Anna (Taylor Immel) Martinelli, Lisa Blair, Jason (Lizzy) Martini, Brian (Crystal) Martini, and Laura (Matt) Goodall; and her great-grandchildren, Kinsley Blair Kochur, Sophia Martini, Jackson Martini, Cameron Kinnen, and Gavin Goodall.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her siblings, Albert, Jerry, Richard, and Robin Taylor, and Dorothy Partridge-Goodman.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, (TODAY) Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be led by Pastor Brian Flood Wednesday morning in the funeral home beginning at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the service, a meal will be shared in the hospitality center at the funeral home. Friends and family will gather in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia for the committal service beginning at 1:30 p.m.
