Marjorie Marsh Quicksall, 89, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 5, 2016, surrounded by family members.
Born June 16, 1927, she will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Marge married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, the late William “Bill” Quicksall, on May 17, 1947 and was reunited with him at the time of her passing.
Marge had several interests during her life. She was an accomplished painter and watercolorist, a decent golfer, and a lover of dogs.
As a life-long resident of New Philadelphia, she gave back to her community by volunteering her time to the John and Orlena Marsh Foundation, T4C, Union Hospital Advisory Board, and many other community efforts. She also participated for many years in Junior Clionian, bridge club, and tourist club.
Marge and Bill had a close circle of friends, especially her “Sticky Wicket” group that would travel each summer for a long golf weekend, and friends who would attend OSU games together.
She was known throughout the community as a genuine person, whose joyous spirit and bright personality made it easy for her to meet new people. Though Marge never met a stranger, she truly loved spending time with her family and friends most of all.
Marge will be deeply missed by her three sons, Bradford W. (Amy) Quicksall of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Donald R.(Denise) Quicksall and David R.(friend, Tally Matthews) Quicksall, all of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Jason Quicksall, Marcie (Jason) Karlowicz, Tracy ( John) Millman, Nathan (Jennifer) Quicksall, Ryan Quicksall and Luke Quicksall; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ava, Alyvia, William, Isaiah, Logan and Harrison; and her sister-in-law, Ann Marsh of New Philadelphia, complete the family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John “Jack” Marsh, Jr.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10 to 11AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will follow at 11AM in the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, friends and family will gather for a reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, T4C, 1458 5th St NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
