Marjorie Jane Hoffmann, age 85, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, November 15, 2007.A daughter to the late Earl and Marguerite Judkins Evans, Marjorie was born at San Bernardino, California on August 21, 1922. Marjorie was a collector of all types of memorabilia. She particularly enjoyed collecting dolls and toy mice. Some of her final pieces of collectibles came shortly after relocating to the Tuscarawas Valley. On an outing to Amish Country, Marjorie found and fell in love with two Amish dolls which she prominently displayed in her bedroom.By nature, she was a people person and showed a great deal of interest in studying everyone she came in contact with. Marjorie also enjoyed traveling to historical and unique places around the United States. In addition, to her love for people and places, Marjorie would never pass up the opportunity to enjoy a McDonald’s Happy Meal with her family and friends. Mrs. Hoffmann is survived by two sons and a daughter, Carl “Rick” Hoffmann and his wife Kathleen of New Philadelphia; David E. Hoffmann and his companion Judith Ann Ritner of Prescott, Arizona; and Carleen E. Kelley of Springdale, Arkansas. She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren; Heather (Kenneth) Stemple, Carl R. (Vanessa) Hoffmann, Stephen Hoffmann and his fiancé Allison Keller, David (Irene) Hoffmann, Cristen Hoffmann and Rudy Rayas, Jennifer (Jaime) Pina, Adrienne (Jason) Van Hoozen, and Michael (Kelly) Kelley; Ten great grandchildren, Kenneth Stemple Jr., Cierra Stemple, Carl J. Hoffmann, Brandon Rayas, Kiley Rayas, Vanessa Pina, Marissa Pina, Rebecca Pina, Devan Van Hoozen, & Katelyn Van Hoozen complete the family.In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, of nearly sixty years, Carl C. Hoffmann who passed away on June 10, 2001. Also preceding Marjorie is a son, Evan C. Hoffmann.A private family service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel offering a service of prayers. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery at San Bernardino, California on Saturday, November 23, 2007.
