Marjorie Harstine

Marjorie E. Harstine, 84, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, January 11, 2019 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a brief illness.

Born in Dover Township, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Mary Margaret Cairns Harstine. Marjorie had graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing and had spent over 35 years serving as a nurse and missionary in Zambia, Africa. She was also a lifetime member of the Ohio State University Alumni Association.

Marjorie was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia and up until her illness, she led numerous Bible studies at area nursing homes and was involved in many activities and programs at the First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her six brothers and is survived by her large extended family and many friends.

In keeping with her wishes, Marjorie is to be cremated through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
