Marjorie E. Watkins

Marjorie E. Watkins, 77, of New Philadelphia died July 24, 2013 after a long and courageous fight with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born February 6, 1936 at Cambridge, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Russell E. and Della Steele Berger.
She graduated from Freeport High School in 1953.
Marjorie retired from Ohio Department of Transportation in 1996 after 30 years of service.
She enjoyed Ballroom Dancing and the competition of dancing. She competed all over Ohio as well as Baltimore, San Diego, Canada, and Florida, where she won many trophies and awards.
She also had several poodle dogs which she dearly loved.
Surviving are her husband, James Watkins, whom she married June 14, 1969; her son, William C. (Nancy) Floyd of Alliance, Ohio; her daughter, Karen (Don) Lawver of Dover; her grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah Watkins of Dover and Jordan (Breanne) Lawver of Broomfield, Colorado; her great-grandchildren, Ross and Jeremy Watkins of New Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Helen) Berger of Freeport, Ohio.
No visitation or services are scheduled. Cremation will be conducted through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
