Marjorie Ann Burky, age 70, of Sherrodsville, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in Union Hospital following a courageous two year battle with Ovarian Cancer. A daughter of the late Lyman and Ellen Nora (France) Kaser, Marjorie was born at Dover, Ohio on April 26, 1941, and attended Brewster High School.Marjorie’s goal in life was to care for and help others in any way possible. Family and friends knew all too well if an individual needed help or support Marjorie would be there. She had a very giving nature which proved to be beneficial while during her many shopping and yard sale adventures she remained true to form and purchased not only for herself but searched for and found gifts for others. She had a very strong will about her and did not let life’s obstacles get to her or keep her down; a trait which was admired by those she loved and cared for. Marjorie loved to travel and explore new places, but also did not mind the quiet time at home where she was often found working a crossword puzzle, reading a good book, listening to country music, or caring for the flower gardens and beds which surrounded her home. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, her husband of eight years, Lysle Burky, whom she married on December 3, 2002; a son, Jeffrey (wife, Barb) Aul of Orrville; a daughter, Debra (husband, James) West of Bolivar; a sister, Betty (husband, John) Pinney of Sturgis, Michigan; and a brother, Robert (wife, Betty) Kaser of Massillon. Additionally, Marjorie leaves behind four grandchildren, Jeffrey (wife, Nicolle) Aul, Jr., Sara (husband, Joshua) Nepsa, Taylor West, and Sara Carozza; three great-grandchildren, Cadi Aul, Jacob Nepsa, and Brody Butzer; and numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by two infant brothers; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Lloyd Shilling; a brother, Lester “Jim” Kaser and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jane Kaser. In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will be conducted through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. A private burial service will take place in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. The family would like to express a most sincere thank you on Marjorie’s behalf to Dr. Schmotzer and the staff of Morning Star Hematology and Oncology for the excellent care and compassion given during her illness. Prior to her diagnosis, Marjorie was a supporter of the American Cancer Society. In continuing her mission, the family suggests contributions in her memory be directed to the organization at 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
