Marion Pethtel

Marion “Bud” Pethtel, 46, Peebles, OH, died Friday, May 7, 2004.Born in West Virginia, he was raised by his mother and step-father, Bill and Mary Wright Hendershot.Marion loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and traveling, and was a skilled woodworker. His favorite times, however, were those spent with his fiancée, family and friends.He is survived by his fiancée, Karen Barkley and her children, Amy, Jennifer, and Amanda Barkley, all of Peebles; a son, Mark (Rebecca) Pethtel of Strasburg; step-daughters, Kelly (Elliot) Metz of Dover, Jamie (Charlie) Lanzer of New Philadelphia, and Laura Chidester of Canton; seven grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, and Brandon Pethtel, Desaray and Logan Lanzer, and Justin and Jessica Chidester; sisters, May Pethtel and Kathryn (Kenneth) Poling; and brothers, Bob Pethtel and Tommy Pethtel.One brother, Albert, preceded him in death.Friends may call on the family on Thursday, May 13, 2004, from 2-4 pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, and are invited to a reception at the Geib Family Center following the visitation.Cremation will be under the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
