Marie Leota McMillen

Marie Leota McMillen, 96, of Dover, formerly of New Philadelphia, died late Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 23, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Flora Brokaw Clark.A member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia, Marie had been active there in the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, the Mary Martha Women’s Circle, and the Church Bible Study. When she was not caring for her home and family, she worked as a housekeeper at the former Timken Mercy Medical Center in Canton.Marie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Alice McMillen of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Mrs. Paul (Pat) Wells of New Philadelphia and Jerry (Jenny) McMillen of Dover; great-grandchildren, Chad (Shawna) Wells, Brian Wells, and Nick (Jill) McMillen, all of New Philadelphia, and Erica McMillen and Zachary McMillen, both of Dover; step great-granddaughters, Casey, Demi, Gaberielle, and Bella, all of Dover;.great-great granddaughter, Morgan McMillen; and step great-great grandson, Blake.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delmar J. McMillen, who died September 14, 1996; a sister, and two brothers.Friends may call on the family at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday evening, February 13, 2004, from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 14, at 10:30 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor William Sowers officiating. Marie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Patterson-Union Cemetery in Deersville, OH. A reception following the committal will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
