Marie A Roth

Marie A. Roth, 87, of Tuscarawas, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 23, 2007 in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.Born April 3, 1920 in Byesville, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Franzee) Decker.After graduating from Tuscarawas High School in 1939, she married her late husband, Richard Roth on February 26, 1939. While busy at home raising their four children, Marie also worked throughout the community, most recently for Dover Buehlers where she retired as a cook in Kitchen Corner in 1982.Marie’s interests included both Bingo and latch-hook. In recent years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her dear friends at Warwick Manor and of course her family. Marie was also a member of the Sharon Moravian Church for more than 50 years.She will be sadly missed by her children including Janet (Harold) West of New Philadelphia, Rita (Dave) Kellar of Tuscarawas, Linda (Larry) Fisher of Bolivar and Richard (Carol) Roth II of Strasburg; her grandchildren, Randy (Glenda) West of Dover, Julie Thomas of New Philadelphia, Tammy Roth of Canton, Richard Roth III of Strasburg, Tonya (Dave) Weimer of Green, Shelley (Chad) Young of New Philadelphia, Kevin (Dawn) Rector of New Philadelphia and Kelly (Angela) Rector of Canton; nine great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Don Decker and one grandson, Tom West.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service celebrating Marie’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Michael Foran officiating. Burial at Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery will follow the service. Friends and family are invited to the church where a meal will be served by Marie’s church family.The family requests memorial contributions be directed to Sharon Moravian Church, P.O.
