Marian Roberta Morgan

Marian Roberta Morgan, age 92 of Country Club Retirement Campus, died Friday, December 14, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover.Born on April 19, 1915 at Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Robb Roby. Marian was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School and was a twenty year employee of the Warner-Swasey Company retiring in 1980. Mrs. Morgan was a former member of the First United Methodist Church at Uhrichsville and joined Broadway United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia in 1963. On June 11, 1960 she married James Eckert Morgan who preceded her in death on November 10, 1962. An accomplished pianist, Marian could often be found playing for church services at Broadway United Methodist until 1998 when ill health would no longer allow her to do so. She also enjoyed dancing with friends in the Rootstown and Akron areas.Marian is survived by a son, Robert M Archer and his wife, Janet Roll Archer of Ashland, Ohio and a daughter Joanne and her husband Gary Staley of North Canton. Marian is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Morgan is preceded in death by a sister, Helen Roby.The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service honoring Marian’s life will be conducted by Pastor Bill Sowers in the Broadway United Methodist Church beginning at 10:30AM on Monday, December 17, 2007. A burial service will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
