Marian Frances Denison, 96, of Dover, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 while in the presence of her family in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Clifford M. and Iva Mae (Carpenter) Reeves. Marian was born May 25, 1922 in Belmont County, Ohio.
On January 16, 1942, Marian married Benjamin Johnson Denison Jr. and they raised two children, Marvin and Betty. The couple shared 56 years of marriage prior to Benjamin’s passing on August 27, 1998.
Marian was fond of flowers and gardening, as well as spending her time knitting and crocheting. Most of all she found great joy in her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Prochaska of Kennewick, Washington; a sister, Georgia Ault of Vail, Arizona; her grandchildren, Denise (Tim) Larkin of Dover, Mark (Gretchen) Denison of Bloomingburg, Ohio, Frank Prochaska of Spokane, Washington and John Prochaska of Seattle, Washington; and her great-grandchildren, Joshua Larkin, Remington Prochaska, Andrea (Michael) Ramage, Donovan (Mikki) Prochaska, Lochsley Prochaska, Archer Prochaska, Trevor Denison and Skylar Kulczycki.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Marvin Denison; a son-in-law, George Prochaska; two sisters, Mary Stottler and Martha Warfield; and three brothers, James, Donald and William Reeves.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 AM in Forest Hill Cemetery at Canton with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
