Maria G. Scalia

Maria G. Scalia, 73, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.A daughter of the late Rocco and Theresa (Romono) Perri, Maria was born November 14, 1936 in Carrei, Italy.She is survived by a daughter, Antoinette Scalia of Canton; three sons, John (Lucretia) Scalia of Canton, Rocco Scalia of New Philadelphia and Angelo (Angela) Scalia of Summerville, South Carolina; ten grandsons, Johnny (Carly), Anthony (Kelli), Dustin (Natasha), Ryan, Angelo, Tyler, Dominic, Adrian, Nico and Luciano and five great-grandchildren, Baylie, Kennedy, Matigan, Sayre and Lucian.Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Guiseppe and a brother, Francesco.The family will receive guests on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Maria’s life will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Harry Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
