Marguerite L. Eichel

MARGUERITE L. EICHEL, 100, formerly of 413 Beech Lane, NW, New Philadelphia, died Monday afternoon, March 17, 2003 at Morning View Care Center. Born December 19, 1902 in Coshocton, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Margaret Hendricks Laird. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ Woman’s Guild, Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Marguerite was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, New Philadelphia Chapter No. 222 being Past Worthy Matron, Secretary and Treasurer. She loved the Star and her friends there. She is survived by her two loving granddaughters, Dana Benson and Jan De Bell, her great-grandsons, Brian and Kevin De Bell; two nieces, the Rev. Marlene Peterson and Barbara Reese. In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, and her son, James Laird Eichel, two sisters, Lucille major and Gladys Murray, brothers, Don Laird and Robert Laird. There will be no calling hours and she will be cremated. The graveside service will be Friday, March 21, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Burial Park where her niece, the Rev. Marlene Peterson, and members of the Order of the Eastern Star will officiate.
