Marguerite Anne Kiernan

Marguerite Ann Kiernan, 94, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 in Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.A daughter of the late August B. and Iva G. (Wooley) Keck, Marguerite was born May 18, 1912 at Dayton, Ohio.She became a resident of New Philadelphia in 1984 and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia.Marguerite was a volunteer at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center and she loved to dance and play cards.She is survived by one son, E. Michael Kiernan of Springfield, Ohio, one daughter, Nancy (Elias) Alam of Dover; three granddaughters, Christine, Stephanie and Jessica Alam all of Dover; two sisters, Doris Bailey of North Carolina and Iva Mapes of Springfield, Ohio and one brother, William Keck of San Francisco, California.Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin P.F. Kiernan who passed away on February 10, 1968; four sisters and three brothers.In keeping with Marguerite’s wishes, there will be no calling hours observed and a graveside service will be held in Dayton Memorial Park at Vandalia on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 12:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made in Marguerite’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
