Margaret Susan Wright, 88, of Gnadenhutten passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Park Village Assisted Living after a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Belasco) Blaschak, Margaret was born September 24, 1927 at Empire, Ohio.
Graduating in 1946 from Toronto High School, Margaret worked in retail sales until her marriage to the love of her life, Floyd, in June 4th, 1949. Margaret and Floyd enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage until his death on April 1st, 2011. Together they reared two sons, David and Christopher.
Although Margaret never returned to work in the private sector, she cared for her parents in their final years and was an active participant in the raising of her grandchildren. Margaret was constantly working on projects at home, doing much of the home and yard maintenance because of her husband’s work schedule. She enjoyed making silk flower arrangements with a seasonal theme and lavishly decorating for Christmas. In addition she found time to volunteer at her church’s charity store.
Margaret was a 43 year member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and a member of the Gnadenhutten Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses, David (Linda) Wright of Gnadenhutten and Christopher (Lou Ann) Wright of Paris, Illinois; three grandchildren, Steven of Gnadenhutten, Amanda (Jeremy) Warfield of Clovis, NM and Raynelle of New York City, and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; brothers, George, Joseph, Daniel and grandson Ryan.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes there will be no public calling hours or services and cremation care has taken place through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory.
Margaret was a patient of Community Hospice from January 2016 until her death. Her family wishes to thank them for their excellent care.
Memorial contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
