Margaret Mae “Peg” Walters, age 95, a life-long resident of the Dover Â? New Philadelphia area, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, April 26, 2005, in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover, where she received loving care. Born at New Philadelphia December 16, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Adam Peter and Lura D. Denning Glazier. Peg was a 1927 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia. Peg was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and worried about them constantly in their avenues of life. Her faith was paramount to her journey in this life. She was a lady who enjoyed antiquing, both locally and regionally, always on the lookout for beautiful glassware. Peg was also talented with her hands. Whether crocheting afghans or doing needlepoint, her work gave her great pleasure. For more than three decades, she volunteered as a Gray Lady in Union Hospital at Dover. Peg enjoyed playing bridge with the Tuscarawas County Duplicate Bridge Club and the Wednesday Night Duplicate Bridge Club for many years. Due to a stroke in 1999, she was unable to play bridge anymore, and she missed the game and her “bridge buddies” very much. Her presence on earth will be missed very much by all who knew her, especially by her two daughters and son-in-law, Janet (David) Engelhart of Dover, and Barbara Prosser of New Philadelphia, two grandsons; Steve Link and Bret (Kim) Link of New Philadelphia, one great-grand-son; Burt Link, three great-step-grandchildren; Nikki and Grace Antonucci and Jared Domer, and a nephew; Thomas Groff of Cedar Fort, Utah. Peg is now in a better place Â? with her husband of fifty-one years, the late Fred George Walters, who preceded her in death July 31, 1980. The two were married May 28, 1929. In addition to her husband and parents, Peg was preceded in death by her sister, June M. Groff, two grandsons; Todd Douglas Link and Chad David Engelhart, her granddaughter-in-law, Elaine Marie Link.Cremation will be conducted under the care and direction of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home& Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 104 Third Street N.W., P.O. Box 474, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
