Margaret Louise Bour, 89, of Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, and a longtime resident of New Philadelphia, died peacefully early Sunday morning, February 8, 2004. Born in New Philadelphia on September 19, 1914, she was the last surviving child of the late Nels Ira Nelson and Theresa Breehl Nelson. Margaret attended school at New Philadelphia, and had formerly worked for Buehler’s and Stoll’s grocery stores. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens. An active lady, Mrs. Bour enjoyed golfing and bowling. She looked forward to cooking for family events, and always had something good to send home with visitors. She also enjoyed gardening and reading. Together with her husband, the late Francis M. Bour, who died in 1973, Margaret raised a family that includes a daughter, Barbara Jean Hinds of New Philadelphia; and sons Nelson F. (Georgia) Bour of La Grange, OH, and Michael D. (Judy) Bour of New Philadelphia. She’ll be sadly missed by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whom she adored. In addition to her parents and husband, a sister, Dorothy King, and a brother, Raymond Nelson, precede her in death. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, February 10, from 5 until 7 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Father William Arnold will officiate Mrs. Bour’s funeral mass Wednesday morning at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial, alongside her husband, will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Family and friends are invited to a reception in the Geib Family Center immediately following the committal service. The Center is adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Margaret’s honor may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 139 Third Street NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
