Margaret L. McRobie, 96, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late John and Emma Kane, Margaret was born September 15, 1912 at Haverde Grace, Maryland.She graduated from Haverde Grace High School in 1930 and on October 10, 1931, Margaret married Lester Wade McRobie. The couple shared almost 60 years of marriage prior to Lester’s passing in 1991.Margaret enjoyed playing Bingo. She also enjoyed camping with her family at Dogwood Campground, known today as Salt Fork State Park.She is survived by her children Wanda Paris of New Philadelphia, Janet Bailey of Dover, Arlene Parson and Myrtle Walker both of New Philadelphia and Lester (Charlotte) McRobie Jr. of Malvern; grandchildren, Louis (Dora) Paris of New Philadelphia, Luann Don Kennedy) Snyder of New Philadelphia, Michael (Kim) Paris of Columbus, Robert (Sue) Everhart of New Philadelphia, Brenda (Dave) Little of Dover, Pam Byers of Columbus, Bruce Parson of New Philadelphia, James (Chris) Parson and Terri Kopp both of Sugarcreek, Cindy Silverthorn of New Philadelphia, Holly Swihart of Bolivar, Chuck Walker and Matt Walker both of New Philadelphia, Randie (Donna) McRobie of Mineral City, Lynda (David) Hillman of Magnolia and Justine McDonald of Minerva; 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband four sisters; two brothers and three sons-in-law, Louis Paris, Bruce Parson and Terry Walker.The family will receive guests on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Pastor David Carrick officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view an online memorial by visiting the funeral home website.Contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
