Margaret Kopp

Margaret M. Kopp, 89, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Jerry and Anna (Dussani) Destefani, Margaret was born February 29, 1928 at New Philadelphia.

Margaret retired from Union Hospital after working as a housekeeper for 12 years.  She was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the New Philadelphia Altar Society, the New Philadelphia VFW and numerous bowling leagues in New Philadelphia.

She is survived by her children, James Lee Kopp and Rosemary Hykes; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Warner John Kopp, Sr.; two sons, Warner Kopp, Jr. and Jerry Kopp; two sisters, Lena Calai and Theresa Mattevi and four brothers, Jim, Charlie, Louie, and Frank Destefani.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 from 9 to 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A service celebrating Margaret’s life will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home’s chapel with Fr. Jeff Coning officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.  After the committal service, there will be a luncheon in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
