Margaret F. Henninger, age 88 of Lincoln, Nebraska, and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday, February 17, 2006.Born at St. Mary’s Pennsylvania on April 29, 1917, Margaret was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Theresa Wolf Weis. Margaret married Warren J. Henninger June 29, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio. They were married 56 years before Warren died Oct 20, 1999.A member of Sacred Heart Parish at New Philadelphia, Margaret was a lifelong homemaker. Her passions were canning produce from “Poppa’s” garden, sewing, and following current events.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Maurine and Charles Shambarger of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a son; David Henninger of Bolivar. Four grandchildren and spouses, Amy Marie Shambarger, Charles Michael and Ksenia Shambarger, Erick David and Amy Shambarger, and Katrina Anne Shambarger, as well as one great-grandson Vlad Michael Shambarger. Niece, Judith Barbee, and two nephews Larry and Tom Hobart complete the family. In addition to her parents and spouse, Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Weis and Rosemary Weis Putnam, a brother Howard Weis, as well as a niece, Barbara Ann Putnam, and nephews, Robert and Gerald Putnam.Monsignor George J. Schlegel will lead a prayer ceremony Thursday morning, February 23, at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where friends may call from 10 AM until the beginning of the service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
