Margaret E. “Peggy” Pugh, 86, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Union Hospital.A daughter of the late Thomas B. and Helen Hughes Scott, Peggy was born April 24, 1919 in Cleveland.She was a 1936 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and then attended night college in Cleveland. She retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation, and also had worked for General Telephone, the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, and most recently for Harcatus in the grandparent program and as a senior companion.Peggy was baptized in the Presbyterian faith and was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. She was an active church member who helped in various church activities. She was an avid reader and supporter of the arts, loved the Tuscarawas Co. Philharmonic, was a member of the Tuscarawas Co. Heritage Homes Association, Harcatus Board of Directors, and was a wonderful and compassionate friend, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends of all ages.She is survived by children, Salli Reese, of New Philadelphia, Arthur Pugh, of Cleveland Heights and Margaret Ann (Rodney) Hatten, of Bethel Park, PA; brother, Thomas B. “Regina” Scott II, of Willowick, O.; grandchildren, Roger, Robert, Scott, Steven, Matthew Hatten, Andy, Kevin and Eric Pugh, Joan Sherbak, Debi Baxter and Beth Reese; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beverly Pugh, of Texas; special cousin, Woody Wilk, of Fresno, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John Richard “Dick” Pugh; a son-in-law, Lindwood Reese and her former husband John Pugh.In accordance with her wishes Peggy’s body has been willed to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for research purposes. A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10 till 11 a.m. A reception in the Geib family center will follow the service.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Tuscarawas Philharmonic c/o Robert Henke 180 Grandview Ave NW, Canton, OH 44708 Tuscarawas Co.
