Margaret Bandi Winzer

Margaret (Bandi) Winzer, 94, a resident of Hennis Care and Retirement Center at Dover, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006.She was born in Burdorf, Switzerland on April 21, 1911 and then moved to Dover, Ohio with her parents, the late Otto and Louise (Roth) Bandi in 1920.Margaret assisted her parents in running the Star Bakery, a landmark in downtown Dover for many decades. Her excellent baking skills were enjoyed by many family members and friends throughout her lifetime. She was also a lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ at Dover.She is survived by three children, Joanne (Jim) Porter of Saline, Michigan, Roland Winzer of Hudson, Ohio and Trudy (Jerry) Dolzine of Dover; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one nephew, John (Grace) Stalder of Fresno, Ohio and their four daughters and their families, all of whom were very special to her.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-five years, Gerhard Winzer, and two sisters, Johanna Bandi and Gertrude Stalder.Visitation will be on Saturday, March 18, 2006 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center with burial taking place in Dover Burial Park at Dover. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to the St. John’s United Church of Christ 409 N.
