Margaret Ann Ward, 88, of Dover and formerly of Carroll County, passed away peacefully at the Inn at Northwood Village in Dover on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Born in Cleveland on January 27, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Maynard Hamilton and Dorothy Catherine (Robertson) Childs.
After graduating from Mentor High School, Margaret continued her formal education obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in speech therapy.
On June 15, 1957, she married her late husband, Monte Gale Ward in Cleveland Heights. Margaret was an active member of Christ Community Church in Dellroy, where she started the Barnabas card-making club.
Margaret is survived by her children, Mark (Karen) Ward of Dover, and Debroah (Bob) Brown of Tioga, Texas; and her grandchildren, Kyle (Kelie) Ward of Little Rock, Arkansas and Kory Ward of Dover; and great-grandchildren, Keegan and Kennedy Ward of Little Rock, Arkansas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by her brother, Bob Childs.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A service celebrating her life will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Earl Rogers officiating. Friends are invited to the Geib Hospitality Room in the funeral home to share in a meal immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Crossroads Hospice.
